S0940 — Third-party Reservation Platforms
Senate Bill 940, the Restaurant Reservation Anti-Piracy Act, passed the Florida Senate on April 16, 2025, and was transmitted to the House.
The bill prohibits third-party reservation platforms from listing, advertising, promoting, selling, or otherwise enabling reservations at public food service establishments, except for certain contractual designees. The Division of Hotels and Restaurants of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation is authorized to impose civil penalties not to exceed a specified amount for violations of the act or division rules implementing it.
