S0368 — Community Associations

Senate Bill 368 proposed creation of a Condominium and Homeowners' Association Economic Crime, Fraud, and Corruption Investigation Pilot Program within the Department of Legal Affairs but died in committee without passage.

The bill would have authorized the Department of Legal Affairs to contract with a private entity to investigate economic crime, fraud, and corruption in condominium and homeowners' associations. The pilot program would have been funded from the Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes Trust Fund. The division would have been required to monitor condominium associations' compliance with insurance and fidelity bonding requirements for certain persons.
