H1333 — Testing of Cosmetics on Animals

House Bill 1333 died in the Industries & Professional Activities Subcommittee on March 13, 2026, and did not advance to law.

The bill, if enacted, would have prohibited the manufacture, repackaging, sale, holding, or offering for sale of cosmetics tested on animals. It would have required cosmetics manufacturers to obtain permits from the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) and consent to inspections and annual written documentation submission. The bill proposed criminal and administrative penalties for violations and a cause of action for DBPR enforcement.
